WASHINGTON (February 23, 2021) Paralyzed Veterans of America and Southern New Hampshire University today announced a new partnership to help veterans who are underserved and overlooked — particularly those with catastrophic injuries or illnesses — achieve their educational aspirations to advance their career goals.

PVA’s Veterans Career Program is a unique career program that provides one-on-one counseling to all veterans, transitioning service members, military spouses, and their caregivers seeking employment, education, or volunteer opportunities. Through the partnership, SNHU will provide educational guidance and assistance to PVA Veterans Career Program clients by helping them explore the university’s degree and certificate programs that may be needed for their career plans.

“The cornerstone of the partnership is to engage non-service-connected injured veterans, their caregivers, and their spouses to help them overcome challenges to education and learning, and be unstoppable in their lives,” said Lauren Lobrano, director of PVA’s Veterans Career Program. “Our collaboration with SNHU will hopefully assist this veteran population in preparing to reach their educational goals, leading to successful career paths and more job opportunities.”

SNHU has a long history of supporting those in the military community. The university’s team of dedicated professionals currently assist more than 15,000 service members, veterans, spouses, caregivers, and survivors with the university’s enrollment, benefits, academic advising, and career preparation services.

“When service members return home from the military, they are often faced with many obstacles along the way,” said Susan Bogle, SNHU’s VP of Product Marketing and Military and Academic Alliances. “For our wounded heroes and their families, those challenges can be magnified. Our hope is that this new partnership with PVA will help these veterans smoothly transition back to civilian life, and allow them to achieve their educational and career aspirations post-military.”
