Paralyzed Veterans of America elects leadership for 2019-2020 term

Leadership officers of PVA’s Executive Committee to fulfill organization’s mission of helping veterans with spinal cord injuries, disorders, and related diseases like MS and ALS

WASHINGTON (July 1, 2019) — Paralyzed Veterans of America today announced that David Zurfluh, a disabled Air Force veteran, and native of Washington state, will serve as PVA’s national president for a 3rd consecutive term. Zurfluh was re-elected by PVA’s Board of Directors during the organization’s election of leadership officers for the Executive Committee’s 2019 – 2020 term. The election was held during PVA’s 73rd Annual Convention in Aurora, CO.
“Since I joined Paralyzed Veterans of America in 1995, the year that I suffered my serious injury, the organization has been there for me every step of the way,” said Zurfluh. “Paralyzed Veterans of America provided me with life-changing care, gave me hope and showed me the way to succeed in life. I am incredibly honored to lead Paralyzed Veterans of America for another year and be the voice for its members and community to help increase the quality of life for veterans with spinal cord injury, disorders, and related diseases like MS and ALS.”
The following individuals were also re-elected to their respective positions on PVA’s Executive Committee:
- Charles Brown, member of PVA’s Florida Chapter, PVA National Senior Vice President
- Hack Albertson, member of PVA’s Kentucky-Indiana Chapter, PVA National Vice President
- Tammy Jones, member of PVA’s Texas Chapter, PVA National Vice President
- Robert Thomas, member of PVA’s Buckeye Chapter, PVA National Vice President
- Tom Wheaton, member of PVA’s Mountain States Chapter, PVA National Treasurer
Ken Ness, from the Wisconsin Chapter of PVA, was newly elected to the fourth National Vice President spot on the Executive Committee. Marcus Murray, from the Kentucky-Indiana Chapter of PVA, was newly elected to serve as the National Secretary. With the re-election of Zurfluh, Al Kovach, Jr. will continue to serve as the organization’s Immediate Past President.
The PVA Executive Committee will begin its new, one-year term today, July 1, 2019.
