Paralyzed Veterans of America
Paralyzed Veterans of America was established in 1946 by veterans who suffered devastating spinal cord injuries and couldn’t find the support they needed. Paralyzed Veterans has worked tirelessly since then to provide access to the care, benefits and jobs veterans need to transition back into civilian life. Today, Paralyzed Veterans has 20,000 members who are veterans from WWII through the recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, serves 60,000 veterans through its 100+ offices and chapters across the country and advocates for better support on behalf of the 800,000 Americans living with spinal cord injury or disease.
