Accessible Home Design
What must I do to install an elevator in my two-story home? Can I retrofit a spacious roll-in shower into my existing master bathroom? How can my flower garden be made more accessible? To better address these needs, Paralyzed Veterans' Architecture Department has revised and expanded publication Accessible Home Design. The book’s ten chapters each address accessibility in specific building components. Subject matter includes entering your home; residential elevators and lifts, kitchen design, bath and toilet room plans, plumbing fixtures, grab bars, doors, windows and outdoor rooms and garden paths.
