Three members of the Paralyzed Veterans of America will be ‘Going for Gold’ at the 2008 Paralympics in Beijing, China in September. Carlos Leon, age 23, Scot Severn, age 40 and Scott Winkler, age 35 will all compete for Team USA in the Track and Field throwing events. All three sustained life-altering injuries while serving our country and are proud to be competing for the USA!

Urge the Senate to pass S.1881ADA ANNIVERSARY
July 26th marked the 18th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Our nation has, indeed, made great strides in the past 18 years, but we still have a long way to go to! That’s why the U.S. House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed the ADA Amendments Act just one month earlier, in hopes that the “last shameful wall of exclusion” will, in fact come tumbling down. We must all urge the Senate to pass S.1881, the Senate bill, quickly as well. Learn more »

The 28th Annual National Veterans Wheelchair GamesSPORTS AS REHAB
In July, the 28th Annual National Veterans Wheelchair Games were a huge success in Omaha, NE. Next month, 3 of our members will represent Team USA in the Paralympic Games in Beijing, China. But year-round, our goal is to improve the quality of life for disabled veterans and other Americans with disabilities by expanding opportunities in sports and recreation for especially through activities that enhance lifetime health and fitness.
