Paralyzed Veterans of America Thanks HP for Its Support
of the 2008 National Veterans Wheelchair Games
Washington, DC— Paralyzed Veterans of America (Paralyzed Veterans) proudly announces that HP, headquartered in Palo Alto, CA, will serve as a national sponsor for the 28th National Veterans Wheelchair Games, to be held in Omaha, NE, July 25-29, 2008.
“The Games bring out the competitiveness and camaraderie in our disabled veterans, and those qualities drive the athletes to attain their goals,” stated Randy L. Pleva, Sr., Paralyzed Veterans national president. “We thank HP for its commitment to support the Games in Omaha, and for helping the athletes have an experience of a lifetime.”
“Our support of the National Veterans Wheelchair Games is really part of HP's larger commitment to America's veterans, Paralyzed Veterans of America, and the Department of Veterans Affairs," said Tom Hempfield, HP vice president TSG Americas US Federal Business Organization. "We remain humbled by the service and sacrifice of America's veterans, and we are honored, in our small way, to help make these incredible games as fulfilling, as enriching and as memorable as they can be.”
The National Veterans Wheelchair Games, presented by Paralyzed Veterans and the VA, is open to all U.S. military veterans who use wheelchairs for sports competition as a result of spinal cord injuries, certain neurological conditions, amputations or other mobility impairments. The VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System and the Great Plains Chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America are hosting the 2008 Games. For more information about the Games, go to
