EMPOWERING VETERANS THROUGH COMPETITIVE SPORTS
The National Veterans Wheelchair Games is the world’s largest annual wheelchair sports program, empowering veterans with spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis, amputations and other neurological injuries to live more active and healthy lives through wheelchair sports and recreation.
Sports enabled me to see that there were others with worse injuries who I could learn from and in turn help others. - James Howard, U.S. Army Veteran
The National Wheelchair Games (NVWG) is a joint venture of Paralyzed Veterans of America and the Department of Veterans Affairs. Since 1985, the two organizations have collaborated successfully to make the NVWG one of the largest annual wheelchair sports programs in the world.
